CO2 emitters
AirTerra has developed a conservative and realistic plan to distribute over 160,000 AirTerra stoves in the majority world within seven years. This will improve the quality of life for over 160K families (approximately 750,000 people) who live on less than $3 / day.
Through the reduction of carbon emissions, wood use for cooking and sequestration of CO2 through biochar, these stoves will sequester, cumulatively, close to 2 million tonnes of CO2 by the 7th year of operation
- sequester over 1 million tonnes of CO2 per year commencing in the 8th year (This amount will increase as additional stoves are distributed.)
- influence thinking on small scale CO2 sequestration models
- demonstrate the effectiveness of widespread, small scale CO2 sequestration
- recycle funds towards the distribution of 1 million plus units
In early 2010 AirTerra will be able to offer CDM’s in 50,000 tonne blocks.
